• Young Agents Council

YAC - ABRThe Florida Association of Insurance Agents Young Agents Council was created in 2006 to give young agents, and those new to the field, the leadership and professional skills needed to practice their craft and perpetuate the Independent Agency System. Membership is open to all FAIA members, licensed or not, who have been in the business fewer than 10 years or are younger than 40.

Young Agents Council members meet regularly to develop a camaraderie that builds strong and lasting professional relationships.

The Young Agents Council can help you:

    • Expand your professional network to include not only other agents, but also carrier representatives and other industry professionals
    • Strengthen industry connections and make new ones
    • Get more involved in your community (SmartStart4Kids and local projects)
    • Develop leadership skills (Florida Future Insurance Leaders, participation in task forces)
    • Learn how to get more involved in the political process and advocate for important agent issues

    Scholarships available

Thanks to generous funding from Frank H. Furman Insurance, Inc., 10 young agents interested in developing their potential will receive scholarships to join the Young Agents Council. Potential applicants must be first-time young agents and agree to join either the YAC Membership or Events task forces. Applications are available online.
