 Jason Levine is the vice president of operations for Harry Levine Insurance in Orlando. In addition to his YAC leadership roles, Jason also serves on FAIA's InVEST Task Force.
Q. What attracted you to this business?
A. Having grown up around the business, I had the good fortune of witnessing and experiencing the on and off field perks! It’s a fantastic business in which you are constantly helping, teaching, and working with a wide variety of people. I love that interaction. Secondly, the lifestyle that the business affords. There is great opportunity to work hard and enjoy the fruits.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A. I see myself fully engaged in the administration and operations side of the agency focused on growth. This unfortunately means less direct client interaction, but my sights have always been set on an ever expanding operation.
Q. If you weren’t an insurance agent, what would be?
A. Either a corporate pilot or a cargo airline pilot (i.e. UPS, FedEx).
Q. What would people be surprised to know about you?
A. I am an instrument rated private pilot; I take the Legislative Fly-In literally each year!
Q. What is your guilty pleasure?
A. Chocolate covered espresso beans and/or real Cuban coffee (at home or in Miami only).
Q. What is the No. 1 thing on your bucket list?
A. A lengthy trip to India—specifically not on an organized tour with a set itinerary.
Q. What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the insurance business?
A. Don’t let yourself get discouraged. Learning and thriving in the business comes in phases. First, it’s new and exciting. Then your head is spinning and it’s frustrating. Once you arrive at even keel though, the world is your oyster.
Q. What is the best professional advice you’ve ever received?
A. Don’t let things happen to you—make them happen for you.
Q. What is your customer service pet peeve?
A. Being called “honey,” “sweetie,” etc., or hearing someone else use it in a business setting.
