Outlook Express Client Configuration

Step 1.
  • First, open Outlook Express from the shortcut on your desktop.
  • Once open, click on the "Tools" menu and go down to where it says "Accounts."
Step 2.
  • Once you click on "Accounts" you will come to this screen. 
  • On this screen, make sure you are under the "Mail" tab at the top, then click "Add" and then "Mail."
Step 3.
  • Once you click on "Mail", you will come to this screen.
  • On this screen type your name as you want it to appear in the "From" line when you send an e-mail.

  • On this screen verify that the first drop-down box has POP3 selected as it is above.
  • Under "Incoming mail server", it will be: mail.faia.net
  • Under "Outgoing mail server", it will usually be in the format: smtp.yourisp.net or .com. Note: If you aren't sure what to put in this field, contact you internet service provider and ask them for the address of their SMTP server.
Step 6.
  • Account name:  This will be your full email address (i.e. yourname@yourdomain.com)
  • Password:  This is your password.  You may check the Remember Password box if you would like Outlook Express to remember your password.  If you don't check this box you will be required to enter your password every time you open Outlook Express.
Step 7.
  • Congratulations, you have successfully set-up your e-mail client.
Step 8.
  • Once you click "Finish" you will come back to this screen and should see your new mail account listed as in the box above.
Step 9.
  • Close Outlook Express and open it again.
  • Finally, hit "Send/Recv" and your new mail should drop into your inbox.
