The Design Process

Back To Technology Home

The web designer that will be developing your site will contact you shortly after FAIA has received the signed contract (with payment) back from your company. The following steps are some guidelines for the process of site design and development.

Step 1: Choosing and approving the design  The first step in designing your site is working with the web designer to pick a layout and the colors for your site. There are many sites to choose from in our portfolio, here you can pick two or three that you like or features from several different ones. If you have bought an entry level package we have templates that you can choose from. Please try to be as specific as you can because if the designer has to go back several times to change the layout and design this could cut into your time allotted for design significantly. Which could in turn would end of costing you more in the long run.

Step 2: Information for your site
There are several items that you will be responsible for in the designing of your site. Get these to us as soon as possible to ensure that your site will not get held up for lack of content. During the development process, you will be required to e-mail these items to us in electronic format (Word, Notepad, etc.).

  1. About Us - This will be what you want your consumers to know about you. The background of your companies and what products and services you offer to help them with their insurance needs.
  2. Contact Us - A listing of your employees and phone extensions, e-mail, etc. There are several different layouts in our portfolio, please look through some of them and let us know which layout you like.
  3. Links page - Any special links that you would like added to your site.
  4. Forms - What types of online forms you would like and the recipients e-mail addresses that the form results will go to.
  5. Companies - What companies you represent with Web addresses and Logos if you have them.

Step 3: Final Approval
After the design is complete and you have approved the site including the content, we will be ready to go "live" with your site. Yeah!

*Make sure you market your site - put it on your business cards, letterhead and all advertising.
