VisionThe FAIA Young Agents Council serves as the unified voice for young agents in Florida and as the structure with which to perpetuate and nurture the future of the independent insurance agency system. MissionThrough effective leadership and stewardship of resources, our mission is: - To exemplify professionalism and ethical behavior.
- To be actively involved in the legislative process surrounding our industry.
- To promote good community relations.
- To foster an environment in which young insurance professionals can interact with each other resulting in successful career paths for young agents and growth for their agencies.
MembershipCharge:Develop recruiting and outreach efforts for prospective new hires from agencies and companies.To offer a sense of "belonging, build knowledge and strength", that will benefit agency operations, profitability and growth. Goal: 250 members by 8.31.2006~ 500 members by 8.31.2007~ 700 members by 8.31.2008 ~ 1000 members by 8.31.2009 Recruiting: Directing our recruiting focus, to the agency owners and principals for agency benefits. - Expected efforts, - phone calls, email and face-to-face communications from requests of the same.
- Agency visits bearing free food and wonderful discussion about the YAC. If willing, a YAC member will visit one other agency on behalf of FAIA / YAC to recruit.
- Agents Education articles
- Members speak on behalf of YAC at their local board meetings, luncheons and Big "I" events. Melissa to attend as many as possible.
- Every time an old member sponsors a new member, we give them a ticket for a prize drawing at convention. Plus a prize for the "most members collected."
- Host after hour socials in main cities. We will have a "bring a friend" and "bring an owner" at a local favorite restaurant. Business card drawings.
- Application will be revised and printed on better quality card stock for personal deliveries, convention and agency visits.
- Specific dates for membership drive. (2007-2008)
- YAC's will become members of the universities "Insurance Society" for speaking events, networking and recruiting.Actually, it is a great commitment to the industry.
- YAC members on various FAIA councils, especially the legislative council.
- On going membership drive w/ rewards given at convention.
Membership opportunities / development:
- Welcome package to include calendar, membership directory.
- Quarterly "Chronicles of YAC' email newsletter to be implemented by summer of 2006.
- Develop the "Insurance Careers" DVD - 2006 / 2007
- Calendar of speakers for area Invest programs, colleges and workforce agencies.Each member will be assigned a date to visit a school, speak and distribute the DVD to the guidance or career counselors.
- FAIA web site to have on going calendar of events for YAC - 2006
- Heavy web activity, insurance Blog, set and utilized by summer / Fall 2006 that will have a "mentor a day" available to discuss issues surrounding the industry and agency operations. A showcase of the YAC of the month. Brief interludes that have valuable time management tools, sales ideas and new contacts.
- Member research / article contributions. Recording the market waves and agency needs.
- Recommended reading lists / book clubs for discussion.
- Scholarship opportunities to the YACs to fund his/her trip to convention. 2-3 per year. Funded by company sponsor.
- Have 10 of the key members on each task force very engaged and YAC productive by fall 2006.
Events Charge: We've got 'em, we have to keep 'em and keep 'em busy - Legislative Fly-In speakers sponsored by YAC. Starting 2006 and every year after.
- Legislative meet and greets in major cities. In conjunction and with the help of Kyle and Laura. 2006 and on going.
- Funding for a Convention speaker, Sam Glenn or Tom Britton 2006. Other speakers every year for Fly-in.
- Convention highlights for 2006- Invitation to Polynesian social, exhibit booth with logo adorned affiliates to signal YAC's that companies, books, people, CE, speakers, etc are "need to see" / sponsored for and by the YAC's.
- YAC TRAC-classes designed for Young Agents through out the year. Breakout at convention.
- After hour gatherings of Young Agents at local hot spots for industry conversation, drinks and networking.
