The seven CIC institutes are:

  1. Agency Management: Learn the foundation of agency planning and analysis, financial performance and management, managing all aspects of personnel, and ways of developing an efficient organization designed for growth and profitability.
  2. Commercial Casualty: Get current and practical policy knowledge; learn how to apply the limits of liability and be able to recommend appropriate endorsements.
  3. Commercial Multiline: Drill down into emerging topics—such as cyber and crime—that are critical to today’s marketplace from both property and casualty perspectives.
  4. Commercial Property: Learn to use innovative ways to maximize coverages for commercial accounts with up-to-the-minute forms and the latest trends.
  5. Insurance Company Operations: Understand your role and interrelated functions within the company and how advanced executive strategies and improved business functions affect success.
  6. Life & Health: Gain an understanding of the basic characteristics, provisions, and riders found in most life, health, and retirement contracts, and target these financial products to the specific personal and business needs of your clients.
  7. Personal Lines: Develop a strong personal lines book of business and growing commission income with this comprehensive course.

Each institute is 20 hours of instruction, followed by an examination. Examinations are optional unless you wish to earn the CIC designation. 

Registration Information

Register for CIC classes by following the class link. If your agency is not an FAIA member, you must first request a login before you can register. After you complete the request, a staff member will send you a login and password. If you need help with registration, contact Christy Stacey.
