In a rapidly changing insurance landscape where pressure is coming at agents from all sides, FAIA membership is more important now than ever. Powerful and highly respected, FAIA defends and advances your interests while providing the benefits and services needed to stay competitive. Here are just a few reasons you should join.
Access to markets is a critical part of success for independent agents. Fortunately, with FAIA membership comes access to Independent Market Solutions, Eagle Agency, and Big "I" Markets. See a matrix of all members-only markets.
Whether it’s pushing for—or guarding against—legislation, troubleshooting licensing issues with regulators and Cabinet officials, or working within the industry to ensure the prosperity of agents, FAIA’s Governmental Affairs team has your back. And it’s looking toward your future: The staff is heavily involved in the electoral process, making sure that agent and pro-agent candidates are elected at both the state and federal levels. Protecting and advancing the independent agency system guides everything we do. Browse our Advocacy pages.
FAIA was the first insurance association to offer education to its members…and has been leading the way ever since. Whether you need continuing education or are pursuing a professional designation through FAIA’s partnership with The National Alliance, FAIA has your insurance education and professional development covered. Classes are offered online through webcasts and webinars, in cities around the state, and in your agency, and on topics that are of great interest to member agencies. Even when you’re not in class, FAIA is here to assist through its help desk: We devote a full-time staff member to answering your questions.
FAIA Member Services (FMS) provides returns on your membership investment by offering high-quality, cost-effective, and thoroughly vetted insurance products and services. Programs offered through FMS, a for-profit subsidiary, can generate additional revenue for your agency, and the more you participate in its programs, the more you earn. Programs sold through FMS generate nearly $4 million in commission for agents each year!
With FAIA membership comes membership in the “Big I,” Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA), a federation of 50 state associations that represent 300,000 insurance professionals, and access to the consumer-tested Trusted Choice® brand. Professionally produced and tag-gable, Trusted Choice® TV, radio, and print ads—as well as a host of other marketing and branding tools—are available to members.
FAIA offers many opportunities for leadership development, whether it’s the Young Agents Council Florida’s Future Insurance Leaders program, or serving on one of FAIA’s councils or task forces. The annual Convention—considered the best of its kind in the nation—Legislative Fly-In, and Planning Session provide agents opportunities to build their professional network and develop stronger industry relationships. Leadership training also is available through FAIA’s educational courses.
FAIA keeps its members informed about the issues that most affect the American Agency System, from legislation to licensing, company health to legal precedents. If it’s happening in the world of insurance, you will hear about it in our e-newsletter, blogs, and online forums.
