Course Catalog Details

The complimentary 10-hour webinar-based course catalog includes the following courses:

  • Four-Hour Law and Update Course
This course is required of every licensed P&C agent and customer representative during each two-year compliance period. The course covers recent legislation, ethics, insurance law and regulations, and wind mitigation.
  • Two-Hour Personal Lines Course: Astonishing Your Clients with Your Personal Lines Knowledge
A recent study found that 60 percent of policyholders had no idea what their home or auto policy fully covers. Because there is no guidance for proper coverage, most people are only buying it because they are required to either by law or by their financial institution. In this session, Jeff Odom will discuss personal lines coverages that the client may not know they have as well as coverages they thought they had. Sponsored by Florida Peninsula Insurance Company/Edison Insurance.
  • Two-Hour Commercial Lines Course: 2024 Cyber Risk Challenges in Florida
Cyber Risk (aka Cyber Liability) still challenges Florida businesses in 2024. This two-hour class will take a holistic look at the risk. We begin our conversation by revisiting a few generic definitions. A quick review of Florida’s Security of Confidential Personal Information Statute (yes…there is one!) follows. Next, we will use the ISO Information Security Protection Policy (yes…there is one of these, as well!!) as a guide to organizing the multiple insuring agreements our insureds need to understand. In what may be considered a little bit of a “stretch,” we will make the comparison of cyber risk to a homeowners policy. We will conclude with a detailed analysis of an actual cyber claim, the importance of a breach coach, and the necessary cyber services that need to be vetted and easily accessible when a cyber event is first reported.
  • Two-Hour Commercial Lines Course: Conversations with Insureds—Topics of Interest in Today’s Marketplace
Premium increases and capacity dominate any discussion of Florida’s insurance marketplace. But there are always additional topics we as agents need to communicate to our insureds. We start the laundry list of this two-hour class with Business Income Forms. We will follow with Extra Expense and Spoilage Forms. A quick review of the coinsurance issues with the Business Income Forms follows, as well as reminders about payroll and extra expense limitations. To add some balance, we will hit on a few personal lines Issues, including homeowners mechanical breakdown, identity protection, and transportation network companies. We will also address resident rentals. To conclude, we will pivot back to some commercial lines topics and a reminder regarding business interruption and commercial auto.
