2024 Convention
First-Time Attendees & New Members

On behalf of FAIA and the Pay It Forward Committee, welcome to FAIA’s Convention. We realize the Convention can be a bit overwhelming, and we’d like to help make your first experience enjoyable. Check out this short video below to see what's in store for you.

When you pick up your credentials, all first-time attendees will receive a red lanyard and ribbon; new members will receive a lime green ribbon. Members of the Pay It Forward Committee and FAIA’s Leadership will watch for you and offer assistance should you need it. They might also have a gift for you.
You may find a gift voucher (or two) in your credentials envelope. Follow the instructions on the ticket(s) to obtain your gift(s).
On Wednesday evening, in conjunction with the Young Agents Council, we will hold a reception for all first-time attendees and new members, starting at 7:00 p.m. in The CONWAY room. You will receive one drink ticket; afterwards, it will be a cash bar. While our informal meet and greet will end at 8:00 p.m., you’re encouraged to network with the young agents when they arrive. To attend the welcome reception, RSVP by Friday, May 31.
On Thursday, FAIA will host a business lunch at 12:15 p.m. in the Sebastian I/J. If you purchased a Thursday Day Pass or Full Registration, you had the option to RSVP. All first-time attendees and new members who checked the RSVP box will receive a raffle ticket for special prizes (must be present to win!). This ticket is only available to first-time attendees and new members. Look for a special sign outside Sebastian I/J to enter your ticket!

Before you arrive, you’ll want to download the FAIA Convention app. You can see where the exhibitors are located in the Exhibit Hall, confirm the location of the breakout sessions you plan to attend, and much more.
When you arrive at the Rosen Shingle Creek resort, check in at FAIA’s registration desk located at the GATLIN Registration and collect your credentials envelope. Take a look at everything inside. Also, be sure to pick up a program. It lists daily details for the entire Convention and includes a map of the Exhibit Hall. If you are also an exhibitor, you may have additional information about your booth(s) at the Exhibit Hall Registration Desk in the GATLIN Foyer.

Should you have any questions about the Convention, please reach out to Julia Freeman. Here are a few of the more popular ones, with answers below.

  • What is the dress code for Convention? Business casual is typical, but there is no mandated style of dress. Keep in mind, the Exhibit Hall is very large. There more than 280 exhibitors waiting to meet you. You might want to wear comfortable shoes and bring business cards.

  • Do you need to preregister for the CE courses/breakout sessions? No. All who have purchased a day pass or full registration may attend a CE course and receive credit. Still, you may want to arrive early to the room as several fill up quickly.

  • How do you access the Exhibit Hall? Your name badge will grant you access to the Exhibit Hall.

  • How do you obtain an extra ticket to the Friday Night Closing Dinner and/or Party? To purchase an additional ticket (or two, or three) before Convention begins, email FAIA Meeting Registrar Julie Simmons at jsimmons@faia.com. Once the Convention begins, go to FAIA’s registration desk at the hotel and someone will be happy to help you purchase an additional ticket (or tickets) on-site if available.
