Local Boards
Local insurance boards/associations serve the interests of independent insurance agents in the communities where they live by providing an environment for the constructive exchange of ideas among members. Local boards help give their members a competitive edge by growing and enhancing community relationships. They also protect the public from unethical business practices by holding their members to a high standard of ethical conduct.
Many local boards hold regular meetings, host lunches and seminars, and participate in regional Big I Days. Affiliated with FAIA and IIABA, local boards are an integral part of the American Agency System and are largely responsible for the remarkable success of Florida's InVEST insurance-education program. Whether they are teaching, mentoring, opening up their agencies to students, or recognizing scholarship recipients, local boards are heavily involved in building tomorrow's work force.
Many local boards hold annual Big "I" days, which may include a golf tournament, tennis matches, fishing tournament, or evening dinner party.
