FAIA Young Agents Council

FAIA's Young Agents Council believes in strength through involvement and offers opportunities for young agents to develop leadership skills, participate in legislative issues, train for sales and management needs, and communicate ideas with highly motivated, sharp minded people. Membership is open to all FAIA members, licensed or not, who have been in the business fewer than 10 years or are younger than age 40.

The Young Agents Council can help you:

  • Expand your professional network to include not only other agents, but also carrier representatives and other industry professionals
  • Strengthen industry connections and make new ones
  • Get more involved in your community (SmartStart4Kids and local projects)
  • Develop leadership skills (Florida's Future Insurance Leaders, participation in task forces, annual Sales & Leadership Conference)
  • Learn how to get more involved in the political process and advocate for important agent issues

Vision and Mission

The FAIA Young Agents Council serves as the unified voice for young agents in Florida and as the structure with which to perpetuate and nurture the future of the Independent Insurance Agency System.

Through effective leadership and stewardship of resources, our mission is to:

  • Exemplify professionalism and ethical behavior
  • Be involved in the legislative process surrounding our industry
  • Promote good community relations
  • Foster an environment in which young insurance professionals can interact with each other resulting in successful career paths for young agents and growth for their agencies. 

Membership Eligibility

  • Membership is open to all who are under age 40 or who have been in the insurance industry fewer than 10 years, licensed or not
  • Members are employed by FAIA agency or associate members in good standing
  • Annual dues payments of $50, plus a suggested $25 FAIAPAC contribution

Membership Expectations

  • Provide input on current and future Council projects
  • Participate at local Zone events
  • Participate in Council-specific events during FAIA events, including the ConventionSummer Leadership Conference, and the Capitol Days  
  • Assist in the perpetuation of the industry through career day events at local universities and community colleges or through InVEST
