Legislative & Regulatory Advocacy Council
The charge of the Legislative & Regulatory Advocacy Council is to:
- Review insurance industry trends, and regulatory, legal, operational, and administrative issues that impact insurance agents, agencies, and markets.
- Recommend to the FAIA Board proposed legislation, rulemaking, or regulatory action to eliminate adverse impacts or to promote beneficial impacts to insurance agents, agencies, and markets. Vigorously oppose any legislation or regulation detrimental to the interests of insurance agents, agencies, and markets.
- Encourage and inform FAIA members, including the Young Agents Council and local boards, on responsible political involvement, which specifically includes the need for participation in IMPACT, FAIAPAC, and InsurPac. Council members agree to participate in FAIA's and IIABA's political action committees.
These actions should be both on a state level and a federal level, as directed by the FAIA Board, keeping in mind the mission of FAIA which is to serve the needs of Florida insurance agents and consumers by promoting a healthy and competitive insurance environment.
