Mark came to Swiss Re fresh out of Kansas State University in December 2007. He spent eight years on the reinsurance claims and technical accounting operations team working on many different lines of business with varying authority levels: property, ocean marine, casualty and workers’ comp. He left reinsurance and came over to Westport at the end of October 2015 because he “wanted to be a part of the process from the beginning to end and to be able to really help our insured when they need us the most.”

Caryn has been working as a claims adjuster for about 34 years (with a two-year time out as a commercial appraiser) handling a variety of different kinds of claims with three different insurance companies before coming to Swiss Re/Westport. Caryn has been handling professional liability claims for about 25 years. She has a CPCU and RPLU designation as well as eight other designations.

Ellen joined a predecessor of Swiss Re in 1996 as a professional liability specialist handling lawyer claims and has handled professional advisors claims in a variety of capacities over the past 18 years. She currently adjudicates complex attorney malpractice and insurance agent errors and omissions claims.
Prior to joining Swiss Re, Ellen practiced insurance defense in suburban Washington, DC and was a judicial law clerk for the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland. Ellen graduated from McDaniel College with a B.A. in English/Writing and earned a J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

Kristina has handled professional liability claims for over 22 years, 20 of them with Westport. An attorney who also holds the CPCU, RPLU, and ARM designations, she handled lawyer claims before switching to handle agent claims.

Barbara joined a predecessor of Swiss Reinsurance Corp. in 1997 as a public entity claims specialist. She held this position for approximately nine years before transferring to the professional liability claims team handling agent claims.
Barbara started in insurance as a claims adjuster in 1987 with Safeco Insurance. She handled various personal and commercial lines accounts.
